Attraction photo downloads will be included with Disney Genie+ service

Starting March 20, guests purchasing Disney Genie+ service will also receive digital downloads of their Disney PhotoPass attraction photos, taken in the park on the day of their purchase, at no additional charge. Attraction photos are taken while in the parks at more than a dozen of our most popular attractions including Space Mountain, Slinky Dog Dash, Test Track, Expedition Everest and more. I always love looking back at family photos at our favorite attractions – it’s a perfect way to remember and celebrate your theme park visit together. An exact launch date will be announced at a later time. Disney PhotoPass terms and conditions and expiration policy apply.

All of these updates are specific to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida – be sure to check out this blog post from Disneyland Resort on updates they announced today.

Please know we will keep listening to you and adapting as we focus on making the guest experience even better for more people who visit us here at The Most Magical Place on Earth.

That includes making planning easier for everyone. For example, we recently added the ability to modify Disney Genie+ attraction selections in the My Disney Experience app, began automatically making theme park reservations with the purchase of 1-day, 1-park specific tickets and made our dining reservation policy more flexible if you need to modify or cancel.

Walt Disney World Annual Passholders: Park reservation requirements will be relaxed for visits after 2 p.m.*

Beginning April 18, Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will be able to visit the theme parks after 2 p.m. without needing a park reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom Park. Pass blockout dates will continue to apply like they do today. While the theme park reservation system remains important to manage attendance in our parks, especially on busier days, we realize our Passholders enjoy more spontaneous visits – and this change will make that possible. Starting March 20, Passholders will also receive access to Disney PhotoPass lenses and one complimentary Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories experience (age restrictions apply). Visit Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories and Disney PhotoPass Lenses for details, restrictions and other information.*

We are also excited to provide Passholders with a new offering starting March 20 where you can create and share short Disney-themed video slideshows with favorite photos from your theme park visits.

Disney’s Winnie the Pooh: The New Musical Stage Adaptation will halt its U.S tour after playing at Charlotte, North Carolina’s Booth Playhouse February 24-26. The tour launched in September 2022 and was originally scheduled to run till May.

The vibrant production uses life-sized puppets and music from the Sherman Brothers, including “Winnie the Pooh,” “The Blustery Day,” and “The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers.” Inspired by A. A. Disney Gossip: Could a Mirabel Meet & Greet Replace Merida in the Magic Kingdom

The newest Disney gossip is that a Mirabel meet & greet is coming to Magic Kingdom later this year! This new character meet and greet will most likely take over the spot where Merida currently meets guests across from Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.

Mirabel first debuted at Magic Kingdom as part of the “Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade” in June of 2022. Disney has not officially announced a Mirabel meet & greet but chances are good she will start greeting guests this fall.

Mirabel has also had various meet and greets at Epcot since November of 2022.

Would you like to meet Mirabel in Magic Kingdom? What do you think about her taking over Merida’s spot?

Jon Favreau has Already Written The Mandalorian Season 4

Season 3 of The Mandalorian has yet to drop on Disney+, but Writer/Producer Jon Favreau says that season four is already written to fit with Ahsoka and other Star Wars series. Disney+ hasn’t officially announced a fourth season of the Star Wars blockbuster, but it is likely given the show’s popularity.

Favreau announced that he penned season 4 during season 3’s post-production and stressed that it is vital that the scripts be done to fit into the larger framework and narrative of the “Star Wars” universe. “Season 4, yeah I’ve written it already. We have to know where we’re going to tell a fully formed story. We had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I, and slowly you start to write each episode. I was writing it during post-production. All of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story.”

Favreau added, “[Dave’s] doing ‘Ahsoka,’ which I’m producing with him. He’s the writer and showrunner on that. To understand what’s happening on other shows….‘Skeleton Crew’ all take place within the same ‘Star Wars’ time period. There’s a lot more things that we’ve got to keep in mind and also stuff that we’ve built up to from previous seasons of ‘The Mandalorian’ as well.”

Video: Guests Make Elevated Shoes for Son so he is able to go on Disney Rides

Another TikTok video has gone viral. This time a family shows how they made their son elevated shoes so he is tall enough for Disney rides.

Related – Disneyland Cracking Down on Stupid Tiktok Trend for Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout

I’m sure we’ve all been there. You get to a ride and your little one is so excited only to find out they aren’t tall enough to ride. We get it, no one likes disappointing their kids or for them to be sad. But creating elevated shoes for them so they are technically tall enough for a ride is not the answer.

The Kelly Fam on TikTok is sharing how they did just that. They took regular shoes and added layers from other shoes and sandals in order to make the shoes taller. They rationalize that their son loves thrill rides and they didn’t want his height to stop him from “feeling the rush”.

https://www.tiktok.com/@the.kelly.fam/video/7198702545097887022

Height requirements are in place at Disney and other theme parks for a reason! Some rides can’t safely hold a guest in place if they aren’t tall enough. Guests can get seriously injured if they don’t meet the height requirement for an attraction. If you don’t want your child to be disappointed, research ahead of time what the height requirements are. For reference, here are the Walt Disney World attractions with height requirements:

Magic Kingdom

  • The Barnstormer – Guests must be 35 inches (89 centimeters) or taller
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Guests must be 40 inches (102 centimeters) or taller
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – Guests must be 38 inches (97 centimeters) or taller
  • Space Mountain – Guests must be 44 inches (113 centimeters) or taller
  • Splash Mountain – Guests must be 40 inches (102 centimeters) or taller
  • Tomorrowland Speedway – Guests must be 32 inches (82 centimeters) or taller

Epcot

  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – Guests must be 42 inches (107 centimeters) or taller
  • Mission: SPACE – Guests must be 40 inches (102 centimeters) or taller
  • Soarin’ Around the World – Guests must be 40 inches (102 centimeters) or taller
  • Test Track – Guests must be 40 inches (102 centimeters) or taller

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

  • Alien Swirling Saucers – Guests must be 32 inches (81 centimeters) or taller
  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – Guests must be 38″ (97 cm) or taller
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith – Guests must be 48 inches (122 centimeters) or taller
  • Slinky Dog Dash – Guests must be 38 inches (97 centimeters) or taller
  • Star Tours – The Adventures Continue – Guests must be 40 inches (102 centimeters) or taller
  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Guests must be 40″ (102 cm) or taller
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ – Guests must be 40 inches (102 centimeters) or taller

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

  • Avatar Flight of Passage – Guests must be 44 inches (112 centimeters) or taller
  • DINOSAUR – Guests must be 40 inches (102 centimeters) or taller
  • Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain – Guests must be 44 inches (113 centimeters) or taller
  • Kali River Rapids – Guests must be 38 inches (97 centimeters) or taller

Please don’t be like this family. Wait until your child is tall enough for a ride before taking them on it. You’ll all enjoy it more if you do.

Senator Bernie Sanders Calls Out Disney for Not Giving Cast Members Raises. Union Members making up 6 different Disney Unions outright rejected Walt Disney World’s most recent proposal, Of the 14,263 votes cast, over 96% voted NO, in an outright rebuff. Disney responded with a zero-pay raise counteroffer. Now, Senator Bernie Sanders has weighed into the fray between Cast Members Union and Disney World.

Senator Sanders tweeted “If Disney can afford to give a $20 million golden parachute last year to a CEO who did a lousy job, it can afford to pay Disney World Cast Members who are struggling to pay the rent & groceries a minimum wage of at least $18/hour. I say to Disney: Pay your workers a living wage.”

Talk about pulling out the big guns and giving the cast members a statement to rally behind! When a United States Senator chimes in, it means you are getting national attention. I mean it is kind of simple, give your employees a living wage.

The Orlando area is expensive to live in, with rents more than triple the national average right now. Yes, we know we will get some comments from some, saying “If you want more money, get a “real” job” or some bs like that, but those same people saying in the comments will also talk about the magic being gone from the cast members.

Cast Members love working for Walt Disney World, at least the majority do. We have seen plenty of comments recently about the Cast members being given a 50% discount on merchandise that Disney will use against them and not buy anything. This is not true either, as Disney gives Cast Members a discount many times throughout the year, whether negotiations are going on or not.
