First look at Disney’s Romantic Comedy Prom Pact

Are you ready for Prom Season? Disney+ is gearing up for this high school rite of passage with a brand new Romantic Comedy on Disney+.

Today, Disney Channel and Disney+ revealed the trailer and key art for Disney Branded Television’s “Prom Pact,” a heartfelt romantic comedy set during the emotion and excitement of high school Prom season. The Disney Original Movie, which stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee (“Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.”), Milo Manheim (Disney’s “ZOMBIES” franchise) and newcomer Blake Draper, is set to debut Thursday, March 30 (8:00-9:45 p.m. EDT) on Disney Channel and Friday, March 31 on Disney+.

It’s the height of prom season, and high school senior Mandy Yang (Lee) and her best friend and fellow outsider Ben (Manheim) are surrounded by over-the-top ’80s-themed Promposals. However, Mandy keeps her eyes focused on a different goal: her lifelong dream of attending Harvard.

When she finds out that she has been put on the waitlist, she is determined to do whatever she can do to get herself accepted, even if that means asking for help from the one person she abhors – popular all-star jock Graham Lansing (Draper) whose father is a powerful senator and Harvard alum. Once Mandy becomes Graham’s tutor, she begins to realize there’s more to him than she thought and perhaps something more to life than Harvard.

“Prom Pact” also stars Monique Green as LaToya, Arica Himmel as Zenobia, Jason Sakaki as Charles, Chelah Horsdal as Mrs. Lansing, David S. Jung as Tom Yang, with Wendi McLendon-Covey as Alyssa Yang and Margaret Cho as Ms. Chen.

Anya Adams (“Ginny and Georgia”) directed the movie and is also an executive producer, along with Jake Kasdan (“Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.”), Melvin Mar (“Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.”), Julie Bowen (“Modern Family”) and Rachael Field (“Modern Family”). Lee is also a co-producer on “Prom Pact,” which was written by Anthony Lombardo (“American Housewife”).

NEW Goofy Plane To Join Mickey & Friends at Brazil’s Azul Airlines

Azul Linhas Aéreas, the “World’s Most Magical Airline” is adding Goofy to its lineup of planes themed after Disney characters.

Azul Airlines, an air carrier based in Brazil, recently announced the addition of Goofy to its Disney-themed airplane offerings at a media event held in Campinas, Sao Paulo.

The new Goofy-inspired plane will join an impressive lineup that includes planes themed after Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck. These Disney-inspired planes are part of a project that launched in 2021, with the latest Goofy-inspired plane slated to join the fleet later in 2023.

The new plane was announced as part of a recent media which featured photos with the existing fleet of Disney-themed planes as well as character meet-and-greets. Reporters who attended the event were also treated to performances from Brazilian singer Sandy and her husband, Lucas Lima.

The event marked the first time since 2021 that the four existing planes in Azul’s Disney-Inspired fleet were photographed together. The addition of the newest plane makes Azul Airlines the owner of the largest Disney-inspired fleet of planes in the world.

Tom Cruise & James Corden Surprise Appearance in Disney’s The Lion King

James Corden, the host of the late-late show, is leaving the air in a big way. CBS will broadcast its last hour of “The Late Late Show with James Corden” on Thursday, April 27th. Corden has hosted the television show since March 2015. CBS has added a primetime special to mark the finale.

Hollywood icon Tom Cruise will join Corden onstage for one big sketch during the primetime special. In the past, Cruise has joined “The Late Late Show” for segments, including stunt pilot training and skydiving.

In this new skit, Corden and Cruise take part in an epic musical performance during “The Lion King” at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood. Corden announced the upcoming skit via social media, sharing a photo with Cruise as Pumba from Disney’s The Lion King. Sources close to Corden state that he is leaving the show by choice. CBS will air a reboot of “@Midnight” replacing the Corden-led comedy hour.

The Goldbergs on ABC Ending After 10 Seasons

The Goldbergs on ABC Ending After 10 Seasons

After 10 seasons, The Goldbergs, the longest-running live-action comedy on air, will end in May. The cancellation news follows tremendous casting changes with Jeff Garlin’s departure and George Segal’s death. Garlin left the series after a series of HR investigations revealed misconduct allegations. Segal passed away due to complications from bypass surgery.

Rising production costs and declining ratings are most likely to blame for the cancellation of The Goldbergs. ABC signed new deals with The Goldbergs star/EP Wendi McLendon-Covey and fellow original cast members a year ago, allowing them to return for a proper sendoff.

Craig Erwich, president of ABC Entertainment, stated, “We are so proud of the 10 years we were able to spend with The Goldbergs. This is an incredible team, and we’re so thankful for the joy and entertainment they brought to so many over this time. We look forward to celebrating their final chapter along with the fans in the weeks ahead.”

The show’s star Wendi McLendon-Covey reflected, “It’s been an honor to be part of The Goldbergs for the last decade. I’m really proud of what we accomplished with the show, and I’m so lucky to have had such a rewarding experience. I will miss my TV family and every last crew member.”

McLendon-Covey added, “Thanks to our brilliant writers for giving us thoughtful story arcs year after year, and for being so collaborative. Thanks to the best EPs in the business. And thanks to all our fans (the Goldnerds) for being so sweet and supportive. My heart is full…But I definitely hope I never see another pair of shoulder pads for the rest of my life.”

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Concierge Lounge Closing for Refurbishment

The BoardWalk Inn Concierge Lounge will be closing for refurbishment on March 11th. This refurbishment is part of Disney’s ongoing work to reinvigorate Disney’s BoardWalk.

The Concierge Lounge refurbishment will last through the end of April. Guests will hear refurbishment work in surrounding areas during daytime hours; nighttime refurbishment work should not be audible to guests in their guest rooms.

Other work happening at the resort includes refurbished rooms, the main lobby (which was recently finished), the new Carousel Coffee, and The Cake Bake Shop.

If you plan to stay at the BoardWalk soon, keep in mind some work will be happening while you’re there.

The Sunshine Flyer offers one-way and round-trip transportation between the Orlando Airport and Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Dr. Seuss’ ‘How the Grinch stole Christmas!’ gets a sequel. Recently there was speculation and a rumor saying Jim Carrey would return to the role of The Grinch for a sequel movie, fans asked what could it possibly be about as there is no direct sequel to “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”? Well, it looks like we have at least one solid answer to the rumors, there is a direct sequel coming out this holiday season.

From ABC News “Dr. Seuss fans might find their hearts growing three sizes this coming holiday season with the release of a sequel to the 1957 classic children’s book “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!”

The new book picks up one year after the original, and like the first, teaches a valuable lesson about the true spirit of the holiday, Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Random House Children’s Books announced Thursday.

The sequel entitled “How the Grinch Lost Christmas!” is not based on a newly discovered manuscript by Seuss — whose real name was Theodor Geisel — but was written and illustrated by an author and artist with previous experience in the Dr. Seuss universe.

Dr. Seuss’ ‘How the Grinch stole Christmas!’ gets a sequel

“One of the most asked questions we receive from Seuss fans of all ages is ‘What do you think happened to the Grinch after he stole Christmas?” said Alice Jonaitis, executive editor at Random House Children’s Books, in a statement.

The original Grinch book has sold nearly 10 million copies in North America alone and like other Seuss books has been translated into multiple languages. It was made into a 1966 animated TV special narrated by Boris Karloff, a 2000 live-action movie starring Jim Carrey and a computer-animated film in 2018 with Benedict Cumberbatch voicing the Grinch.

The new book, scheduled for release Sept. 5, is written by Alastair Heim and illustrated by Aristides Ruiz. Heim has written Seuss-themed books like “If I Ran Your School” and “I Am the Cat in the Hat.” Ruiz has illustrated the Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library books for more than two decades.

Spring is in the air with Donald & Daisy Meeting in new Location in Hollywood Studios

Spring is in the air with Donald & Daisy Meeting in new Location in Hollywood Studios. As you enter the Park, Donald and Daisy are normally greeting guests, waving from a balcony. It looks like this may have changed recently. Instead of waving at guests from above, they are now in the Chinese Theater courtyard where Chip ‘n Dale would normally be.

With all the changes to Disney Character Meet and Greets recently at Disney’s Hollywood Studios we got to see Daisy and Donald Duck gardening by the Hollywood Brown Derby. Both were amazing to watch and interact with. Daisy was out spraying the flowers that are starting to bloom, while Donald was watering the flowers.

Every once in a while they would come together and interact, which turned out to be the absolute cutest part of our morning. Daisy would walk over and give Dinald a beak-to-beak smooch, and Donald being Donald would act shy and blush.

Spring is in the air with Donald & Daisy

There has been a ton of changes recently at Hollywood Studios regarding characters. Disney recently added back the Elastigirl and Mr. Incredible meet and greet, along with Frozon and Edna Mode characters. Big-time character meet and greet Powerline Max has also come to Studios, also Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers have begun hanging out by Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular.

We do not know how long Donald Duck and Daisy Duck will be in the courtyard doing their spring cleaning and gardening. With Chip ‘n Dale as the Rescue Rangers being added, it could be a little while.

Journey of Water Inspired by Moana taking shape in EPCOT. Here is our weekly update and can see a lot of work has been completed this week. Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana bills itself as “Explore the wonders of water along an interactive trail that’s fun for all ages—based on the Disney animated film Moana.“

The new water attraction, where we will come face to face with the water cycle, is due to open sometime in later 2023. In our newest images, we can now see the entrance is starting to take real shape. With lighting added, and rock work being finished.

Furthermore, you can now see canopies have been installed inside the attraction, presumably for a bit of shade. We can also see some of the pools that will be water features. Looks like construction crews have laid concrete pathways through Journey of Water and are almost finished.
