Most films would consider a 30 million-dollar opening weekend a massive success, but superhero films are judged differently. For most studios, these tentpole films cost a lot of money to create and market, in that regard Shazam 2 underperformed in its opening weekend. The film grossed 30.5 million in its opening weekend but cost 110 million to make and another 100 million to market. Given those grim numbers, it seems highly unlikely that Shazam 2 will be a “win” for Warner Brothers.
Given the recent troubles for the DCEU, Shazam 2’s box office disappointment doesn’t bode well for the studio, which is still in flux. While James Gunn will take the DCEU in an entirely new direction in the near future, Shazam was supposed to be a safe bet for the remaining projects yet to be released. The first film opened to over $50 million in its opening weekend and was critically acclaimed earning a 90% Rotten Tomatoes Score and an 82% Audience Score.

The film’s director David F. Sandberg tweeted a thread on March 20, sharing his experience making Shazam 2 and clued fans into his future with the DCEU. Throughout multiple Tweets, Sandberg expressed disappointment with the film’s critical score and the superhero genre’s online discourse. Sandberg shared, “On Rotten Tomatoes I just got my lowest critic score and my highest audience score on the same film 🤷♂️ I wasn’t expecting a repeat of the first movie critically but I was still a little surprised because I think it’s a good film.”
Having expressed his desire to return to horror films, Sandberg stated that he was “grateful that he got to direct two of these (Shazam Films). They’ve been challenging but valuable experiences. Sandberg will return to the horror genre, where he is well known for Annabelle: Creation and two Lights Out films.

Next up for the DCEU is The Flash releasing June 16, 2023, followed by Blue Beetle on August 18, 2023. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom starring Jason Mamoa, hits theaters on December 25, 2023. Test Track, Figment, and Land Pavilion Displays Represented on Living with the Land. Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival is going on right now, and we have written various articles on the food, the topiaries, and the music, but did you know Disney has secretly updated Living With the Land Attraction? Ya, neither did we until we got to ride this laid-back ride.
Living With the Land – Cruise past greenhouses on a gentle boat tour and discover the surprising history of farming. While you are looking around at the beautiful gardens and ponds keep an eye out for homage to other Epcot attractions. They are towards the end of the ride, in the last greenhouse room.
You will spot a miniature orange track with cars in a wonderfully arranged orange Edible Flower garden. You can also spot a very small Figment and Imagination pavilion, and my absolute favorite is The Land building with a mini pitchfork and farming tools. Check out the images below.

Guests of Disney’s Swan and Dolphin resorts now have a new restaurant to choose from. Rosa Mexicano opened to guests on March 19th, and recently released their full menu for us to drool over.

Rosa Mexicano, located in the Disney Dolphin resort, “offers a fresh take on authentic Mexican cuisine.” The restaurant, which also has locations in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Maryland, provides an elevated dining experience complete with signature menu items and award-winning margaritas.
Breakfast fans will find a nice array of items to choose from at Rosa Mexicano, including a reasonably priced breakfast buffet that features Mickey Waffles, Eggs, a variety of breakfast meats, and continental breakfast offerings. Additional breakfast items include Breakfast Burrito, Huevos Rancheros, Mimosa, and a Blood Mary.
Rosa Mexicano’s lunch offerings include a great selection of offerings including Tacos, Sandwiches, and Salads. You can even enjoy guacamole made table side! The Cheeseburger Grande has officially made it onto my burgers to try list.
Dinner is certainly the main event at Rosa Mexicano, with an extensive menu that includes a variety of starters, mains, sides, desserts, and drinks. Drink offerings include beer and wine, crafted cocktails, and hand-crafted margaritas.
Main dishes for dinner provide a great deal of diversity, ranging from a 22oz Ribeye steak to Salmon Pipian. Even the pickiest of eaters should be able to find something they will enjoy on the dinner menu here!
As an Orlando area local, Rosa Mexicano is on the top of my must-try list. With an impressive lineup of Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner offerings, you certainly can’t go wrong with trying this new restaurant out for any meal!

Walkway Between Storybook Circus and Tomorrowland at Tron Now Open. The soft opening of Disney’s newest attraction started two days ago, during the first day only guests with a virtual queue or a Lightning Lane were allowed into the newest addition to Tomorrowland. That all changed today.
The new Tron Lightcycle Run ride and the themed area have opened for everyone as of today. Not only that but the walkways between Storybook Circus, and the new Energy Bytes quick service have opened. The only thing that is not open, in that area, is the new Launch Depot store that will sell all the new Tron merchandise.
The new walkway runs from Tomorrowland under the Tron canopy and parallel to the newly constructed railroad tunnel. It is well-themed and there is a new Tomorrowland sign.

The Bailey sisters may both soon be stars of Disney-owned movies. Chloe Bailey, the star of Swarm and sister of The Little Mermaid Star Halle Bailey, related to Collider that she is interested in playing the X-Men character Storm.

When Collider asked Bailey if seeing her sister star in The Little Mermaid has spurned an interest in pursuing a major motion picture, she related “the sky’s the limit” and that she wants “to be Storm in Marvel, and Disney owns Marvel” indicating the role would place both sisters within Disney-owned IP.

This is not the first time Bailey has expressed interest in playing Storm, telling Variety in Nov 2022 “I’ve always wanted to be a superhero, and she’s my favorite one, so you can fill in the blanks”. While we do know The X-Men are being rebooted within the MCU, no firm details have been released.

The complete trailer for the upcoming Live-Action Little Mermaid film, which debuted during the Acadamy Awards, received 108 million views in just 24 hours, making it one of the most-viewed live-action movie trailers in the history of the studio.

Per Movieweb, the Little Mermaid trailer views are the most for a live-action Disney film since The Lion King’s trailer garnered 130 million views in 2019. The high number of views seems to indicate the movie has a large interest among fans, however, we will need to wait until May 26th if this interest translates to a strong showing at the box office.

The Little Mermaid stars include Halle Bailey as Ariel; Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric; Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian; Awkwafina as the voice of Scuttle; Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder; and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula. Bailey and McCarthy were on hand at the Academy Awards on March 12 to debut the trailer.

Disney+ announced today the four-part docuseries “Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All,” in which Emmy Award-winning producers at Fulwell 73 Productions (“Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium “Adele: One Night Only,” ”The GRAMMY Awards”)will take viewers on a journey around the world spotlighting how an unlikely child with a stutter rose to fame to become one of the biggest global music superstars and how his chart-topping hits were born. “Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All,” from Disney Branded Television, is set to premiere globally Wednesday, May 3, on Disney+.
For the first time, global superstar Ed Sheeran opens the doors to a definitive and searingly honest view of his private life as he explores the universal themes that inspire his music. This series follows Ed after he learns of life-changing news and reveals his hardships and triumphs during the most challenging period of his life. Blending exclusive, never-before-seen personal archive, present-day actuality, authentic interviews with his wife and loved ones, and intimate performances in cinematic locations, the series widens the lens to unearth what Sheeran thinks of the world, of himself and his music, as well as showcases a decade of hits enjoyed by subscribers around the world.

“I’ve always been very guarded in my personal and private life; the only documentary I’ve ever made has been one that focused on my songwriting,” said Sheeran. “Disney approached me to make a four-part documentary, and it felt like the right time to open the door and let people in. I hope people enjoy it.”

“Love”
Ed Sheeran explains the unwavering work ethic that has driven his global success. With exclusive footage of his teenage years, Ed describes how he planned his unlikely success. When he was ignored by the music industry he started to play in unexpected settings until this determination brought him into contact with media entrepreneur Jamal Edwards in 2010. Together, they used the burgeoning internet to find their audience.
“The A Team” breaks America but for Ed something was still missing. Ed shares the story behind his iconic love song, “Perfect” about his old school friend and now wife Cherry which tells of their romantic love story. Ed seems to have everything, until Cherry gets life altering news and Ed quickly realizes that plans can change in an instant and he will have to adapt.
“Loss”
Ed, his parents, and wife Cherry look at old photos of Ed and explain why he decided to return to live in his English hometown. With unseen footage of Ed’s Divide Tour, Ed introduces his tight fortress of trusted friends that keep him anchored. Then, the unthinkable happens. Ed’s best friend, Jamal Edwards suddenly dies.
Ed struggles through a memorial for Jamal as he considers Jamal’s legacy. Ed meditates on the meaning of friendship and, using music as therapy, dives deep into work. During Ed’s 5-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium, British artist, Stormzy, joins Ed on stage in an epic performance before a smaller, surprise gig in his hometown. In a rousing homecoming singalong, Ed sings the iconic “Thinking Out Loud” to shocked locals looking on.
“Focus”
Ed shows his songwriting talents in exclusive archival footage showing the inception of one of his biggest hits, “Bad Habits.” Ed explains the origin story of writing “Eyes Closed” in 2018, through to its latest heartfelt version. After a turbulent year, Ed’s able to channel his emotions, and pours himself into completing his 5-album masterplan with Subtract, which has eluded him for over a decade.
Mourning the loss of Jamal, Ed continues at pace, filming 14 music videos for his new album and has his childhood dream come true when he performs with Eminem at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, but Cherry worries he may be using work as a distraction. In an intimate performance, Ed publicly shares songs from Subtract for the first time but is overwhelmed when his emotions get the better of him.
“Balance”
In the final episode, Ed jets off to America to promote his tour. Both Ed and Cherry reflect on how they manage the challenges of balancing family life and work when they are regularly miles apart. Reunited at their home, Cherry explains how much of a shift she has seen in Ed over the last year. Ed meets up with friend and fellow British artist, Stormzy, to share his apprehensions of releasing his most personal thoughts into the world with Subtract.
In a tribute to Jamal, Ed writes a beat for his “F64” rap about their friendship for an intimate performance at Chelsea FC’s home ground, Stamford Bridge. After some good news about Cherry’s health, she and Ed reflect on all the hardships and triumphs over the last year and look towards the future having a more cherished outlook on life.
