New ‘The Mutants’ X-Men Movie “In the Works” at Marvel Studios. Marvel fans have been eager to hear when Marvel Studios would be introducing the X-Men into the MCU, and though we got a small taste in WandaVision (even if it turns out Evan Peters really isn’t Peter Maximoff) fans are still looking forward to a more forward presence from the X-Men.
Marvel Studios president and CCO Kevin Feige has shared that there have been drawn out conversations on how the X-Men will be introduced in the MCU now that Disney has fully acquired Fox and the rights to the various Marvel Characters they previously owned. Feige shared with ScreenRant:
“You know how much I love the X-Men. I already said that’s where I started,” he continued, “I can’t tell you anything before we actually announced it, but rest assured, the discussions have been long and ongoing internally.”
The news of the working title “The Mutants” (Not to be confused with the film, The New Mutants) comes from The Illuminerdi, who indicated a more solid plan has already been set in place by the studio. This is not surprising, given the fact that WandaVision, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home all seem to be wrapped up in the expansive Multiverse.
This is a developing story, so be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Marvel!
