The newest vessel in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, the Disney Adventure, has been officially handed over by the Meyer Werft shipyard! While the ship was originally slated for its maiden voyage this month, the debut was unfortunately delayed following recent sea trials.
The Disney Adventure is officially one step closer to its home port! Disney Cruise Line Singapore shared the excitement on Instagram, noting: “As Disney Cruise Line and shipbuilder Meyer Werft finalized the handover of the ship, the Disney Adventure is now one step closer to calling Singapore home! The Maiden Voyage sets sail March 2026, welcoming guests on board for magical moments at sea.” The landmark handover ceremony included Captain Mickey and Captain Minnie, alongside key leaders from the shipyard and Disney, including Meyer Werft CEO Bernd Eikens and Disney Cruise Line executives.
The Disney Adventure is set for its Maiden Voyage on March 10, 2026. This vessel, which began its life as the Global Dream before being purchased by Disney in 2022, will be Disney Cruise Line’s largest ship, capable of hosting up to 6,000 passengers. The ship will operate exclusively out of Singapore, offering unique features like a Storybook Castle in the atrium, character shows featuring Captain Jack Sparrow and Duffy and Friends, and exciting Marvel rides. Walt Disney Imagineering just gave fans a cozy little blast from the past by sharing vintage concept art for the final scene of Carousel of Progress, and it is pure Tomorrowland nostalgia. Posted to Instagram, the artwork was created in 1993 by Greg Wilzbach, former Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering, and it helped inspire the current fourth scene of the beloved Magic Kingdom attraction. The scene, affectionately known as “Christmas in the House of 2000,” debuted when the attraction reopened in November 1994 following a major refresh tied to the “New Tomorrowland: The Future that Never Was” era.
The concept art shows a warm, futuristic family living room decked out for the holidays, complete with Imagineering notes scribbled right onto the artwork. Many of Wilzbach’s design ideas made it straight into the final animatronic scene, but a closer look reveals some fun differences. In the concept art, Patricia appears to receive an acoustic guitar for Christmas, while in the finished attraction she ends up with winter boots instead. The dining room table, TV, and media center also look noticeably larger in the early artwork than what guests see today inside the rotating theater.
Carousel of Progress has come a long way since its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair, evolving through versions at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom while still holding tight to that “great big beautiful tomorrow” energy. Even now, the attraction continues to inch forward, with Disney previously confirming that it will receive an update featuring the new Walt Disney animatronic that debuted at Disneyland earlier this year.

See Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Costumes at Walt Disney World
Swifties, take note! To celebrate the release of The Eras Tour docuseries and the final concert film, three iconic costumes worn by Taylor Swift on the tour are now officially on display at Walt Disney World.
You can find this exciting display inside the Walt Disney Presents attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Note that there is no exterior signage indicating the costumes are inside, so head directly into the building to see the exhibit!
The three costumes on display represent the Reputation, Midnights, and The Tortured Poets Department eras. The first is the stunning gold snake bodysuit from the Reputation era, an iconic Roberto Cavalli design (she famously wore a red snake version, too).
Representing the Midnights era finale is the vibrant set worn for “Karma”: a navy blue bodysuit and garter (designed by Zuhair Murad) paired with matching Louboutin boots and a pink jacket.
Completing the trio is the off-white dress from The Tortured Poets Department era, an elegant Vivienne Westwood design famously featuring lyrics from the album written across the skirt. Fans only have a limited time to see these outfits; according to Cast Members, the display will only be available until late January.
Fans can now stream The Eras Tour: The Final Showand the first two episodes of the The End of an Era docuseries on Disney+! Notably, The Final Show features the full inclusion of songs from the latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, which were not in the original concert film. The docuseries, which chronicles the world tour, will release two new episodes over the next two weeks.
Encanto Original Cast Confirmed for New Animal Kingdom Attractions
It’s official! Encanto co-director, Jared Bush, has confirmed that the original film cast will reprise their roles for the highly anticipated new Encanto ride coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The script is nearly finished, and the recording is almost complete! Co-director Jared Bush shared the exciting update, saying: “Almost done recording our entire original cast. Being back in the booth with everyone is the absolute best!” This confirms that the entire stellar lineup—including Stephanie Beatriz (Mirabel), John Leguizamo (Bruno), Jessica Darrow (Luisa), Maluma (Mariano), and the rest of the Madrigal family—is officially returning for the new attraction.
Construction on the Encanto attraction is rapidly progressing, with the structure going vertical. This progress, coupled with the near-completion of the original cast recordings, suggests the ride is on track for its projected 2027 opening! The new attraction will anchor the park’s Tropical Americas land (replacing DinoLand U.S.A.).
Guests will step inside Casita—with ride vehicles inspired by the house’s animated furniture—on the day Antonio receives his gift. The journey will take riders deep into Antonio’s jungle room, where they will encounter beloved characters like Mirabel and Bruno, extending the magic beyond the film’s original story.
The new land will also feature thrilling adventures, including an Indiana Jones ride, which is confirmed to be a re-imagining of the existing DINOSAUR attraction. Additionally, guests can look forward to a whimsical carousel located in the fictional village of Pueblo Esperanza.
There are few places more magical during the holidays than the historic Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, and on Sunday December 14, D23 Members were treated to the ultimate seasonal celebration: A Jolly Holiday on the Lot. Head of D23 Michael Vargo kicked off the festivities with a warm welcome, celebrating the incredible D23 community and the return of this beloved annual tradition.

For the collectors and die-hard fans, the evening held a massive surprise: Our first look at the D23 2026 Member Gifts. Getting an in-person preview of what’s coming next year was a fantastic perk that had everyone buzzing about their membership renewal.
Guests were invited to dine at the famous Studio Commissary, enjoying some great food in the same spot where Disney legends have eaten for decades. Afterward, the Studio Store was open for business, allowing members to shop for exclusive merchandise and holiday gifts right on the lot.
While the food and characters were wonderful, the true heart of the event was the charity partnership. D23 teamed up with Build-A-Bear to support Toys for Tots.
Attendees rolled up their sleeves to help build and donate stuffed bears for children in need. The generosity of the D23 community was on full display, with the night bringing in over 800 donations. It was a touching reminder of what this season is truly about.
Between the falling snow, the exclusive 2026 reveals, and the incredible generosity shown for Toys for Tots, “A Jolly Holiday on the Lot” was a resounding success. It was the perfect way to kick off the holiday season with a little bit of Disney magic.
