Today Disney has given us a first look at some of the Halloween Food & Drink Offerings coming to the Disney World Parks, Resorts, and Disney Springs in celebration of the upcoming Disney’s Haunted Mansion Movie!

The time has come once again to gather for some sinister sweets and delightful treats because Halfway to Halloween is here – and this year we’re celebrating the Haunted Mansion! We’re kicking off the frightfully fun festivities with all the tasty ways you can celebrate this year.

First Look at Gideon’s Halfway to Halloween Treats Featuring Barnabas Mephistophelittle. Disney’s Halfway to Halloween has become an annual event. Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs has joined in the celebration over the past few years, and this year we got a sneak peek from the owner, Steve, and He gave us all the info about the upcoming dessert, trading cards, pins, and more.

If you ever get a chance to meet Steve, one thing is very clear, he is passionate about his cookies. He is also in love with both his vision and direction for Gideon’s. With characters and a look that when you see it, you know it belongs to Gideon’s.

He also is very protective of his creations. No, he does not offer to ship any food item, he is concerned about freshness and flavor. Cookies and cakes should be eaten as soon as possible, so they taste the freshest. Steve also is not very fond of ranking his cookies.

When we asked about his favorite he explained why he doesn’t rank them “I think a person’s favorite will change based on their mood, if you may be down a little, the chocolate chip might improve that mood.” This type of small business mind, with an eye for good character development, a local to the bone, and a quality over quantity mentality has made Gideon’s a household name around the world.

Halfway to Halloween Kicks Off This Week With Teaser Trailer for Disney’s Haunted Mansion. Today Disney Parks start celebrating Halfway to Halloween, with a week’s worth of announcements. From food and merch to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, all will be revealed this week. Halloween 2023 appears to be Haunted.

Welcome, foolish mortals, to this year’s Disney Parks Halfway to Halloween celebration! Spring has sprung, which means the countdown to the spooky season has officially begun and #HalfwaytoHalloween is underway at Disney. This week on the Disney Parks Blog, we’re celebrating all things Halloween with exciting news and updates from Disney Parks around the world and a full celebration of the fan-favorite Haunted Mansion attraction, plus limited-time specialty food and beverage at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.

Disney College Program Cast Members are slated to receive a pay bump

Good news for college students seeking to participate in the Disney College Program: Disney College Program cast members are set to receive a pay bump! Currently, Disney College Program cast members are paid a salary of $14.00/hour. Beginning June 4, this salary will be increasing by $2.00/hour.

The new $16.00/hour rate will apply both to current Disney College Program cast members as well as future Disney College Program participants. The Disney College Program spans four to seven months (with opportunities to extend up to one year) and allows participants to network with professionals throughout The Walt Disney Company, take part in Learning and Career Development Sessions, and live and work with people from all over the world.

The eligibility requirements to participate in the Disney College Program are as follows:

Currently enrolled and taking classes at an accredited *United States college, university, or higher education program OR have graduated from an accredited *United States college, university, or higher education program within 24 months of the application posting date
Must have completed at least one semester at an accredited *United States college, university, or higher education program by time of program arrival
Meet any individual school requirements (GPA, grade level, etc.), if applicable
Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
Be receptive to Disney Look appearance guidelines
Possess unrestricted *United States work authorization for the duration of the program (Disney does not sponsor visas for the Disney College Program.)
Be receptive to a starting rate of $14 per hour (*Effective June 4th – the starting rate will increase to $16 per hour)
Be fully available to work Sunday through Saturday, including days and nights, holidays, and overtime
Be receptive to exposure to outside elements including heat and/or humidity, cold temperatures, wet conditions, and prolonged standing/walking
Be willing to follow all cleaning and disinfecting procedures in the work area including handling cleaning chemicals and supplies
Additional personal protective equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required
Former Disney College Program participants must not arrive less than four (4) months after their last departure date.

The Disney College Program is currently recruiting for program arrival dates between May 2023 and October 2023.

Disney 100 Decor has Started to Arrive in the Magic Kingdom

New Disney 100 Decor has started to arrive at the Magic Kingdom. This past weekend we saw this new marquee sign as you enter the theme park.

The Platinum Disney 100 Statue is very subtle celebrating Disney’s 100 Years of Wonder which first started in Disneyland but has now shifted to Walt Disney World.

EPCOT is supposed to be the home of the Disney 100 but it is nice to see a little decor at the Magic Kingdom as well.

Main Street USA Clock Returns to the Magic Kingdom. We recently got word from D23 saying Citizen Clocks would donate a Disney Clock from Main Street USA. This came right after the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary clock was removed from Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

The Citizen Clock that used to stand on Main Street has returned to its previous form. Along with the return of the green clock post it sits on. A gold-plated casing, clock post, and gold clock hands adorned the Citizen Clock for the past 19 months. With Disney World’s 50th banners hanging off, it has also been removed.

Citizen Watch was the official timepiece of the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary.

Disney CEO Bob Iger Addresses Firing Marvel’s Ike Perlmutter

Disney CEO Bob Iger Addresses Firing Marvel’s Ike Perlmutter. TIME talked to the executive about the move that inspired the ousted taskmaster to seek out a rare public interview about his departure.

The CEO argues that the redundancy of having multiple presidents at the Marvel division caused the move. Famously, the board member and the current CEO disagreed about some personnel decisions surrounding Marvel Studios years ago. Iger argues that this was a part of tightening the belt overall and sometimes hard choices happen.

“This was a necessary step in the direction of us creating a more efficient company. There was redundancy specific to the way Marvel was being managed,” Iger replied when asked about Perlmutter’s departure. The CEO also said that “this decision would have been made regardless of that,” when the idea of Peltz’s intrusion came into question.

In an interview with CNBC, Iger explained the dustup with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige back in 2015. “Our filings indicate that both Ike and Nelson were working together to try to encourage the board or convince the board to put Nelson on the board,” he explained. “They have a relationship that dates back quite some time. We bought Marvel in 2009. I promised Ike the job that he would continue to run Marvel after that. Not forever, necessarily. But after that.”

Iger continued, “And in 2015 he was intent on firing Kevin Feige who was running Marvel’s studio, the movie-making [operation] at the time, and I thought that was a mistake and stepped in to prevent that from happening. I think Kevin is an incredibly, incredibly talented executive that you know, the Marvel track record speaks for itself. And so I moved the moviemaking operation of Marvel out from under Ike into the movie studio under Alan Horn”
