Staying hydrated can be challenging for the average Walt Disney World guest. Florida is known to be one of the warmest states in the country, and summers can be brutal. While some Floridians typically try to stay out of the sun, travelers choose to make the most of their vacations and get a battering from the heat. Walt Disney World has noticed and is taking the initiative to accommodate guests during their stay at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.
Introducing water fountains specifically designed to fit refillable water bottles! This will not only help the physical and financial health of visitors at the park, but it will also encourage environmental care, bolstering those who bring their own bottles instead of continuing to buy plastic bottles that will end up in landfills. An impressive move by Disney to put the earth and their guests first!
The fountains are simple to operate, a single button at the base of the machine turns the water on after you’ve placed your bottle or cup underneath the flow zone. These stations have been spotted around several locations in Galaxy’s Edge, accompanied by drinking fountains, and guests hope that this will be the start of a growing trend throughout the parks. Many are the days that dehydration has claimed a weary traveler before they could reach The Trolley Car Café. But those days are coming to an end!
Maybe it’s because of the high demand for water cups or maybe it’s an increasing environmental awareness; but whatever the reason, we love to see innovation at the parks, especially when it makes our day happier! Head on over and take advantage of Galaxy’s Edge’s new water fountains for yourself!
