This year the Disneyland Paris – Val d’Europe Half Marathon Weekend will be taking place September 21-24, 2017. Runners from around the world will take part in this second annual event. Last year’s inaugural race had 11,000 runners participating with one-third of those from the United States. What could be better than a magical run through the French countryside that finishes at the Disneyland Paris Resort with all of your favorite Disney characters!
This year’s race is going to be even better than last year. A new 10K has been added to the race weekend along with a Challenge event.
The 10K will have many fun surprises and Disney entertainment as runners make their way through Disneyland Paris Resort. The Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo Challenge is for runners who take on the 10K and the half marathon. Completing this challenge will earn you a brand new Cinderella-themed medal.
For a next level challenge, runners who complete the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon and any other runDisney half or full marathon within the same calendar year will receive the Castle to Chateau Challenge Commemorative medal.
Another new fun addition to this year’s festivities is that the Disneyland Paris 5K will be run at night! This course will have participants of all levels running down Hollywood Boulevard and around The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. After the 5K is over Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris Resort will host a special runDisney event for anyone participating in the race weekend. Runners will be able to purchase tickets for this private Kick-Off Party that will give them access to main attractions, Disney characters, commemorative photo opportunities and a DJ party.
