Disney Car Locator Feature to be used in Walt Disney World parking lots

We’ve all been there. After a great day in the Magic Kingdom, you get off the tram in the Ursula lot and suddenly can’t remember which number you parked in. Or maybe your brain was in total vacation mode when you got there that morning, so you don’t even know if you’re in heroes or villains. So you start walking. And nothing ruins a magical day quite like wandering all over the parking lot with aching feet and whining kids.

So while it might not seem like the most exciting announcement to come out of Walt Disney World in a year of 50th-anniversary fun, the new car locator feature is actually one of my favorite new features to come out in a long time!

New Car Locator Feature Coming Soon to My Disney Experience & Disneyland App

The feature will be a complementary addition to the My Disney Experience app, and it is set to launch later this summer at the Walt Disney World Resort. A Disneyland Resort version will be available later this year as well through the Disneyland app.

When you use the car locator properly, you’ll be able to locate your car almost anywhere on Disney property, including all four Walt Disney World theme parks, Disney Springs, Disney Water Parks, and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. You’ll start by opening the My Disney Experience app and hitting the car locator card on your home screen. Then enter your parking information. If you choose to enable location permissions on your device, the car locator can help fill in the details for you. When you’re ready to leave, return to the car locator for your parking information.

Sponsored by State Farm, this new My Disney Experience feature is one of the most useful. And that’s saying a lot since the app has revolutionized Walt Disney World vacations! Don’t forget to update the My Disney Experience app so it will be all set when the car locator launches this summer. Say goodbye to midnight confusion in the parking lot and hello to a swift trip to your hotel!
