‘National Treasure’ is Now Available to Stream on Disney+. Get ready to pop some popcorn and stream! National Treasure has made the move from Netflix to Disney+ and is now available on Disney’s new streaming platform. The fan-favorite 2004 adventure flick has been one of the most anticipated titles added to Disney+ this year.
National Treasure starred Nicholas Cage, Diane Kruger, Justin Bartha, Jon Voight, Harvey Keitel, and Sean Bean and became an instant favorite film among Disney Fans.
“Historian and code-breaker Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage) has been searching his whole life for a rumored treasure dating back to the creation of the United States. Joining an expedition led by fellow treasure hunter Ian Howe (Sean Bean), Gates finds an ice-locked Colonial ship in the Arctic Circle that contains a clue linking the treasure to the Declaration of Independence. But when Howe betrays him, Gates has to race to get to the document ahead of his so-called colleague.”
The film was so popular that it sparked a sequel, National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets, and rumored to be in the works is a third untitled National Treasure film. Book of Secrets is also currently available to stream on Disney+.
Previously, it had been reported to ComicBook.com that Nicholas Cage was ready to reprise his role as Ben Gates for National Treasure 3. It is currently unknown when production will begin and no theatrical release date has been announced at the time of writing.
