Sometimes it can be hard for kids to slow down at Walt Disney World. They want to pack as much fun into a day as possible. One great way to do that in the past, while still allowing parents to take a break, has been character dining. Everybody gets to sit down and eat, but still see their favorite characters! While COVID has caused a lot of character experiences to remain closed since Disney World’s reopening, we still have some good news to share: Minnie’s Silver Screen Dine has returned to Hollywood Studios!
Minnie and her friends come out to celebrate Hollywood’s glamour with guests at this dining experience. It shifts throughout the seasons from Springtime Dine to Summertime Dine, Halloween Dine, and Holiday Dine. Starting January 5th, Hollywood & Vine will host the Silver Screen Dine. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy have all been known to attend in some of their fanciest apparel. The dishes are all-you-can-eat, but brought to your table, a healthier alternative to buffet-style sharing. Start with a family-style salad, then move on to individual entrees. Choose from plates such as Garlic and Cracked Black Pepper Prime Rib of Beef and Macaroni and Cheese with Shrimp. Finish off with some Chocolate S’mores Pie or Banana Cream Pie! At about $59.99 per adult, you can indulge yourself. The Silver Screen Dine ends March 1st and will switch to the Springtime Dine on the 2nd.
Character dining is a great experience for families with children especially. This has never been more true than in the age of social distancing and the lack of character meet-and-greets. Kids appreciate seeing their favorite Disney pals up close and even getting a well-angled and socially-distant photo with them. This writer is headed over to see Minnie at the Silver Screen Dine soon herself and I hope to see you there!
