Back in 2018, it was announced that Capcom’s ‘Mega Man‘ video games would be getting a live-action adaption film. Reportedly, the movie has been picked up by streaming giant Netflix, with Henry Joost and Rel Schulman producing alongside Orlee-Rose Strauss. The film will be produced under studios Chernin Entertainment, Supermarche, and Netflix.

Initially, the film was meant to be produced by 20th Century Fox, but after the acquisition of Fox by Disney and the film was shelved post-acquisition, the rights were reportedly sold to Netflix for development. Joost and Schulman currently remain with the project despite the studio changes. With the positive audience responses to films featuring iconic videogame characters such as Sonic, Super Mario Bros, and Pikachu, it comes as no surprise that Netflix is looking to bring another beloved videogame franchise to the big screen. No casting or plot details have been revealed at the time of writing.
