Tucked away in the Canada Pavilion in the O Canada Building, the Appleseed Orchard Bars are already a hidden gem. However, another hidden treasure glistens in the back near the Cider Bar. There is actually a Maple Syrup Taste Testing section near the Cider Bar, presented by Burton’s Maplewood Farms!
Bradley and Sasha were incredible hosts of this complimentary tasting in Epcot. I hadn’t heard of this part of the Appleseed Orchard bars, and really enjoyed the surprise! The Appleseed Orchard was already one of my favorite stops at the Food and Wine Festival this year, and this was a sweet topping.
Samplings of thee different Maple Syrups were available for tasting. There was a classic Pure B Grade Maple Syrup, an Applejack Brandy Barrel Maple Syrup, and a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Maple Syrup. The Barrel syrups were exquisite and multi-layered, truly like nothing I have ever tasted before. My personal favorite was the Applejack Brandy, although some of the other girls preferred the bourbon one.
These syrups aren’t just for your pancakes and waffles either! The unique flavor profiles of these syrups make them great for using in cocktails, or even savory recipes. Bradley and Sasha also offered lots of knowledge about the process these syrups go through, so it was a fun and informative experience.
