In the southland, there’s a city with delicious treats like these Tiana’s New Orleans Beignets!
When it comes to Disney movie food, the beignets from “The Princess and The Frog” are always #1 on the list, they are fluffy and sweet and just perfection! Lucky for us, you can actually find this treat at New Orleans Square over at Disneyland or at Port Orleans Resort in Disney World to satisfy that craving.

If you are thinking, but what I don’t have plans to visit a park right now? No worries! Disney shared a recipe so you can recreate this iconic treat at home! All you have to do is follow this recipe:
TIANA’S NEW ORLEANS BEIGNETS
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 tsp of dry yeast
- 1/4 cup of warm water
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 2 tbsp of vegetable shortening
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 1 egg
- 4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of boiling water
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar

INSTRUCTIONS:
- STEP 1: Sprinkle yeast over warm water in a small bowl. Stir to dissolve.
- STEP 2: Add sugar, shortening, salt, heavy cream, eggs, flour, yeast, and boiling water to a large bowl and mix together.
- STEP 3: Rest dough mixture for 30 minutes.
- STEP 4: Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into individual squares. Let dough rise for 2 hours in a warm area.
- STEP 5: Heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees and fry beignets for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown.
- STEP 6: Dust warm beignets with powdered sugar and serve.
