You can usually find this mouth-watering dish at Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue but now you can recreate these sweet and spicy ribs at home! They are super easy to make and a great option to have for lunch or dinner.



Citrus Roundup BBQ Rub

  • 2 1/2 tbsp of lemon pepper
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 2 tbsp of paprika
  • 1 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp of ground cumin
  • 1/4 tbsp of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp of chili powder
  • 2 tbsp of seasoning salt
  • 1 tbsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp of onion powder


  • 1 1/2 cups of Citrus Roundup
  • BBQ rub (recipe above)
  • 1 (4 pound) of rack pork spareribs, trimmed of excess fat
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce

Citrus Roundup BBQ Rub

  • Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl. Stir to combine.


  • Sprinkle Citrus BBQ Rub on both sides of ribs, rubbing the meat to adhere. Then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Place ribs in a roasting pan or on a baking sheet and pour water into pan. Cover with foil and roast for one hour.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and uncover. Pour off any excess water.
  • Evenly coat top of ribs with barbecue sauce. Return pan to oven and roast for 30 more minutes.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and cover lightly with foil. Let ribs for 10 minutes.
  • Slice the ribs between each bone with a serrated knife and serve immediately.
