Located in Cape Canaveral, Florida, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is offering a special viewing opportunity. Visitors to the Kennedy Space Center is offering a viewing opportunity for the Commercial Crew SpaceX Demonstration Mission 1 (Demo-1) Launch!
The Kennedy Space Center mission 1 will be the first, un-crewed test flight of NASA’S Commercial Crew Program. Eventually the NASA’S Commercial Crew Program will carry men and women into space from American soil for the first time since 2011. Visitors at the Kennedy Space Center will have the opportunity to experience the awe and excitement of these historic launches, all just a few miles from the launch pad. This experience will be the closest public viewing for the Kennedy Space Center.
The Demo-1 launch is set to lift off from Kennedy Space Center’s launchpad 39A. Launchpad 39A is most well known for the area from which Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong set course for the moon on Apollo 11 in 1969. Therrin Protze, chief operating officer for the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex explains, “This is the first of many enhanced viewing opportunities to come.
