Josh D’Amaro, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman, recently made a visit to Disneyland Resort. Even though Disneyland is unable to open to guests this Christmas season, he is trying to spread some holiday cheer. Josh went to visit Walt’s Apartment inside Disneyland to show the Christmas tree on display.
It’s been a difficult year for many. But seeing a glimpse of Walt’s Apartment at Disneyland’s Main Street USA helps to offer some holiday hope.
The story behind the lamp is that Walt would turn the lamp on to let cast members know that he was in the park. After he passed, the lamp was kept on to represent his spirit watching over Disneyland.
The lamp glows as a source of inspiration to cast members and guests and as a remembrance of Walt and his dream. Even with the parks closed during this uncertain time, the lamp still shines. It gives us a sense of hope that all will be well again.
We understand we won’t be seeing Disneyland Resort open this holiday season, but here’s hoping that next year will be merry snd bright for guests!
