Jason Wingreen, who voices Boba Fett, the space bounty hunter in Star Wars; The Empire Strikes Back, has died at 95.
Jason Wingreen originally auditioned for Yoga but accepted the role of Boba Fett when Yoda went to another actor. When asked about the role, for which he would go uncredited for until approximately 2000, he said;
“I think the actual work, aside from the hellos and goodbyes and all that, could have been no more than 10 minutes”
Jason was born in Brooklyn and had well over 100 credits to his acting career passed away in his home in Los Angeles on Christmas day. Before getting into acting Jason served in World War II and co-found Circle in the Square theater company in NYC.
Jason was survived by his son, sister and two grandchildren.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
