Recently, Billionaire Elon Musk has been taking shots at The Walt Disney Company online which has led fans to believe that a buy out of the company may be on his mind. It’s no secret that when Musk has taken shots and made sneers online towards other companies that he has taken an interest in them for one reason or another. Over the last year Musk made snide comments regarding Twitter which he recently purchased bringing his company count to 5. His other companies include Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company and Neuralink. Could The Walt Disney Company be his 6th?
Musk has notably been calling out Disney in recent tweets as well as sharing that “It’s Time” for Disney to lose the copyright of the Head Mouse himself, Mickey Mouse as a 95-year old copyright is closely approaching a close. Musk shared his sentiments via Twitter when commenting on an article from Slashdot.
If Musk was interested in putting in a bid for TWDC it would cost him nearly half of his net worth at the time of writing, but with the IP attached to the brand, Musk could see this as a chance to earn a high ROI as he continues to dominate markets as the Richest Man in the World.
Do you think it’s likely Elon Musk will buy out The Walt Disney Company? What changes do you think he would make to the brand if he did? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Company of updates and all things Disney!
