Try This At Home: Fun Mickey Bubble Art

As most families are practicing safe social distancing, being at home can feel a bit less magical. With this Mickey Bubble Art tutorial, your family can have some fun creating some Disney magic at home.

Try This At Home: Mickey Bubble Art

In order to create your own Mickey Bubble Art, there are a few things you will need:

  • Small bowls
  • Warm water
  • Food coloring
  • Dish soap (non-toxic)
  • Paper Straws
  • Blank Paper
  • Mickey Mouse Template
  • Scissors
  • Pencil

Here’s how to make your Mickey Bubble Art:

  1. Fill bowls half way with warm water, then add about 10-15 drops of food coloring of your choice.
  2. Add about a teaspoon of dish soap, starting with a small amount. If you want more bubbles, add a little more dish soap.
  3. Gently stir the soap and food coloring together.
  4. Use a straw to blow into the bowl to make bubbles. Blow into the water until the bubbles are taller than the edge of the bowl. (Adults, make sure to help your little ones with this.)
  5. Gently press the paper onto the bubbles. Don’t worry if the first try isn’t what you were trying to achieve. It make take a few more tries and possibly a bit more food coloring to get the bubbles to transfer to the papers. Have fun and be creative by stirring up the bubbles, making them smaller and larger, and changing up their pattern.
  6. Repeat these steps with additional colors
  7. Don’t forget to stay curious and creative! Try layering different colors of bubbles onto one paper, or just stick with one color.
  8. Let your bubble art papers dry in the sun completely.
  9. If you haven’t done so already, download and print the Mickey Mouse Template. Ask an adult to carefully cut out the template.
  10. Trace the Mickey shape onto your bubble art masterpiece pages.
  11. Carefully cut out.
  12. Display your art all around your home!
