After Encanto dropped on the streaming service Disney+ on December 24, 2021, appreciation for the film’s soundtrack has only grown.
For starters, the music of Disney’s “Encanto” took over the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, becoming the first film or TV soundtrack to reach that peak in more than two years.
The last soundtrack to reach No. 1 also came from Disney — “Frozen II,” which stood on top for a single week in Dec. 2019.
For the “Encanto” album, it was definitely a case of “from small things, big things one day come,” since the soundtrack entered the chart in December at an extremely modest No. 197, when the film’s theatrical bow was generating far less interest than what’s being seen with its streaming popularity now.
No one, it seems, can stop talking about Bruno. But even the other songs, such as ”Surface Pressure,” are getting special attention.
The rock band No Resolve has released its own version of “Surface Pressure”. It might sound unusual at first, but it’s quite a fun twist to the Encanto song.

Bringing the song into the rock genre highlights the intensity at the core of the lyrics, which brings out another layer of the song.
