The 2020 International Festival of the Holidays has officially begun at EPCOT. The event includes many festive forms of food and entertainment. But one delightful piece is the gingerbread display of the U.S. Capital!
The display is an accumulation of easily-recognizable American landmarks, such as the United States Capitol Building and its iconic white dome (made of chocolate! Even better than the original, don’t you think?).
The Lincoln Memorial has impressive details, and of course, a notable figure sitting inside!
The patriotic gingerbread display features tributes to several D.C. landmarks in addition to the U.S. Capital. It includes the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and Thomas Jefferson Memorial.
But perhaps the most impressive piece of work is the Washington Monument, which stands at 7 feet tall. Who doesn’t love an edible structure that’s bigger than they are? And gracing it, along with the other monuments, are a few seasonal decorations to tie them all together in a Christmas theme.
What a magnificent display! Be sure and head over to EPCOT to discover what 165 pounds of gingerbread look like! Also, be sure to keep your eyes open for those hidden Mickeys while you’re there!
Let us know what you think of the display if you head over to EPCOT this holiday season!
