Elizabeth Olsen in London to Film ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘. Marvel Fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and we expect that excitement will only grow after the release of WandaVision this coming January on Disney+.
Recently, Olsen spoke with Empire Magazine regarding the new series and how excited she was to move straight from WandaVision to the Doctor Strange sequel sharing, “I’ve spent the last year with Wanda and it’s actually incredible to go back-to-back because I feel I can contribute so much more now.” An excerpt from the editor shared that by the time the WandaVision issue of Empire was released Olsen will have begun filming for the new movie in London, reportedly at Pinewood Studios, the same studios currently filming Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid, and the future home of several projects from Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel Studios.
Fans were first introduced to the idea of the new WandaVision series at the 2019 San Diego Comic Con after Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige shared, “We got a WandaVision show. We’re introducing Monica Rambeau in that WandaVision show. Wanda Maximoff is probably near the upper echelons of power… I contend she would’ve taken down Thanos if he hadn’t called [Rain Fire]…So, her being the Scarlet Witch now, as Lizzie [Olsen] said on stage, full unabashed power base coming into the Doctor Strange movie, that is two heroes coming together in a fun way.”
Currently, WandaVision is set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ beginning January 15th and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is projected to premiere in theaters on March 25, 2022. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Marvel!
