Confirmed: Chiwetel Ejiofor's 'Baron Mordo' to Return in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Confirmed: Chiwetel Ejiofor’s ‘Baron Mordo’ to Return in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Doctor Strange star, Chiwetel Ejiofor recently spoke with Comicbook.com about his upcoming project, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, confirming his character Baron Mordo will appear once again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Many fans have been wondering what Mordo has been up to since his character was last seen stealing magic from other sorcerers, but what has he been up to since the Thanos snap or “The Blip”? According to Chiwetel, “All will be revealed.” in Doctor Strange 2.

Chiwetel was also very excited to have Sam Raimi join the project after Scott Derrickson stepped down as director for the film sharing with ComicBook.com, “He’s coming on. I’m very, very excited about that. Obviously, we’ve been sort of interrupted as the whole world has been in the pandemic but hopefully we are back on track with that and continuing quite soon, so I’m very excited about it.”

Earlier this year, Raimi confirmed his involvement with the project and shared his enthusiasm to get going on a Marvel Studios film featuring one of his favorite comic book characters from his childhood. “I loved Doctor Strange as a kid, but he was always after Spider-Man and Batman for me, he was probably at number five for me of great comic book characters,” Raimi shared. “He was so original, but when we had that moment in Spider-Man 2 I had no idea that we would ever be making a Doctor Strange movie, so it was really funny to me that coincidentally that line was in the movie. I gotta say I wish we had the foresight to know that I was going to be involved in the project.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will premiere in theaters on March 25, 2022, nearly a year after the intended release date of May 7, 2021. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Marvel!
