Disney’s Veterans Institute Returns to Walt Disney World Resort This Summer

Disney is dedicated to honoring America’s military. Beginning with Walt Disney and Roy O. Disney’s service during WWI, the Walt Disney Company has prioritized treating service members with respect. This year, Disney has announced that they will host the Veterans Institute Summit. August 19th and 20th, at Walt Disney World Resort, an event organized to provide companies with helpful training and support programs in the hiring of veterans.

This event will allow businesses to learn how to furnish openings for service members returning home and transitioning to civilian life. Veterans Institute Summit is presented by Disney Institute and the Wounded Warrior Project. It will be a free event held live online. Insights and dialogues will be aired to give employers valuable knowledge in providing work opportunities.

It is highly appropriate to announce this event now since May is National Military Appreciation Month. Some of the speakers who will be offering a presentation at the Summit include:

  • U.S. Army General Paul Funk II, Commanding General, United States Army Training and Doctrine Command
  • Michael Linnington, CEO, Wounded Warrior Project, U.S. Army General, retired
  • Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen, CEO, WeBe Life; Founder, Give an Hour
  • Bob Woodruff, Founder, Bob Woodruff Foundation
  • Jaime Chapman, COO, and Co-Founder of Military Spouse Chamber of Commerce
  • Beau Higgins, Senior Manager, Military Affairs, Amazon; U.S. Marine Colonel, retired

The 2022 Veterans Institute Summit will be webcast live on August 19 and 20 from the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. Event sponsors are Wounded Warrior Project, Amazon, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Optum Serve. We love seeing Disney find ways to support veterans and military spouses!
