The Doctor Strange sequel has won its third straight weekend at the box office. This weekend, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness earned $8.5 million on Friday on its way towards an estimated $30 million for its third weekend frame. The film’s running domestic box office total is surpassing $340 million.

Among 28 MCU features, the Sam Raimi-directed spin on the sorcerer lands at No. 11 so far on a global basis. It has also become the No. 1 worldwide and international release of 2022.

The highly anticipated sequel is the second highest-grossing opening weekend for Marvel Studios since the COVID-19 Pandemic and after the success of the partnered film ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home‘ ($260+ Million) with Sony Pictures.

To restore a world where everything is changing, Strange seeks help from his ally Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, and the Avengers’ most powerful Scarlet Witch, Wanda. But a terrible threat looms over humanity and the entire universe that no longer can be done by their power alone. Even more surprising, the greatest threat in the universe looks exactly like Doctor Strange.

“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron.
