Disney’s upcoming new movie, “McFarland, USA” is based on the true story of a group of novice runners from McFarland, California. an economically challenged town in the farm-rich Central Valley. Under the training and direction of the new coach, Jim White (Kevin Costner) a cross country team is built. Both Coach White and the McFarland students have a lot to learn about each other but when White realizes the boys’ exceptional running ability, things begin to change quickly. Along the way, the power of family relationships, their unwavering commitment to one another and their incredible work ethic provide the team the ability to overcome the odds to not only build a championship cross-country team but leave an incredible legacy and achieve their own kind of American dream.
