Disney’s Contemporary Resort Elevators have a new look. The Contemporary Resort in Walt DIsney World is about to celebrate its 50th Anniversary, along with the rest of Walt Disney World resort. The resort was showing its age recently, so Disney went in and is refurbishing the Resort. With updates that include a room makeover. Lobby refurbishment, and furthermore, the elevators and The Wave restaurant are all being updated.
The elevators stand out now. No longer just mirrors for you to stare at yourself while headed up or down to your room. The new elevator has a cut metal look, with what looks like the Monorail exiting the Contemporary Resort. There are only 1 of the 4 elevators done right now. The Contemporary Resort Elevators each feature a different voiceover. The refurbished one has Mickey Mouse welcoming you and telling you the floor you have arrived at.
Retreat to this ultra-modern Disney Resort hotel and discover award-winning dining, spectacular views and dazzling pools. Whether you’re staying in the iconic A-frame Contemporary tower or the nearby Garden Wing, you can walk to Magic Kingdom main gate or catch the Resort Monorail as it breezes through the tower. Inside, a 90-foot-tall mural by Disney Legend Mary Blair—responsible for the distinct look and feel of the “it’s a small world” attraction—celebrates the Grand Canyon and the American Southwest.
