Aulani a Disney Resort and Spa is closed until further notice due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The delicious, fresh food normally enjoyed by Aulani guests won’t go to waste though! Just like the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, Aulani is donating food to the local community.
Over the past week, Aulani Resort has donated approximately 7,000 pounds of perishable food to Aloha Harvest. Aloha Harvest is a food collection and redistribution organization located on Oahu which delivers the food the same day to social service agencies across the island to help feed those in need.
The donation from Aulani included fresh fruits and vegetables, bread and milk products, as well as sweets like cupcakes and cookies.
“Donations like this are so important during times of uncertainty,” said Aloha Harvest Executive Director “Phil” Augustus Acosta. “This food helps ensure that people who are already faced with hunger continue to receive resources.”
It is so heartwarming to see Disney’s resorts giving to their local communities during these uncertain times.
