Here is more information including refund info from the Disneyland AP website:
Annual Passport Refund Information
Disneyland Resort Annual Passports that were valid as of March 14, 2020 may be eligible for a pro rata refund due to the sunsetting of the current Disneyland Resort Annual Passport program. The pro rata refund amount for each such Passport, if any, is unique to the Passport and is based on factors such as: how much has already been paid toward the Passport, any refunds already provided, and when the Passport was activated. Applicable pro rata refunds for any additional features attached to the Passport—such as parking—will be included in the Passport pro rata refund amount.
Pro Rata Refund Eligibility and Calculation for Valid, Activated Passports (See Below for Exceptions)
If the total amount paid toward a Passport (minus any refunds already given) exceeds the “usable value” of the Passport, that excess amount will be refunded for that Passport. The “usable value” of the Passport equals the total sales price of the Passport divided by the total number of access days to any theme park permitted under the Passport at activation and multiplied by the number of days that the Passport could have been used to visit any park per the terms of the Passport prior to March 14, 2020.
- Pro rata refund amount = Total amount paid toward a Passport (minus any refunds given) – Usable value of Passport
- Usable value of Passport = (Total sales price ÷ Total number of access days at activation) × Number of access days available prior to March 14, 2020
Pro Rata Refund Eligibility and Calculation for Passports That Were Renewed During the Theme Park Closure Period
Passports Paid in Full at Time of Purchase
If a Passport was renewed during the theme park closure period and the renewal price was paid in full, the total sales price paid for the renewed Passport will be refunded for such renewed Passport.
Additionally, for the previous Passport that expired during the theme park closure period, if the total amount paid for such Passport (minus any refunds already given) exceeds the “usable value” of the expired Passport, that excess amount will be refunded for that expired Passport. The “usable value” of the expired Passport equals the total sales price of the expired Passport or the renewed Passport (whichever is greater) divided by the total number of access days to any theme park permitted under the expired Passport at activation and multiplied by the number of days that the expired Passport could have been used to visit any park per the terms of the expired Passport prior to March 14, 2020.
- Pro rata refund amount = Total amount paid for renewed Passport + (Total amount paid toward the expired Passport (minus any refunds given) – Usable value of expired Passport)
- Usable value of expired Passport = (Total sales price of expired Passport or renewed Passport, whichever is greater ÷ Total number of access days of expired Passport at activation) × Number of access days of expired Passport available prior to March 14, 2020
Passports Purchased Under the Monthly Payment Program
If a Passport was renewed during the theme park closure period under the monthly payment program, the monthly payment contract for the renewed Passport will be cancelled and no monies will be owed under such contract.
- Pro rata refund amount = Total amount paid toward expired Passport (minus any refunds given) – Usable value of expired Passport
- Usable value of expired Passport = (Total sales price of expired Passport or renewed Passport, whichever is greater ÷ Total number of access days of expired Passport at activation) × Number of access days of expired Passport available prior to March 14, 2020
Pro Rata Refund Eligibility and Calculation for Unactivated Passports

If a Passport was purchased on or after January 1, 2019 and not yet activated as of March 14, 2020 (i.e., not been used for park admission) and the sales price was paid in full at the time of purchase, the total sales price of the Passport will be refunded. If a Passport was purchased prior to January 1, 2019, the Passholder must contact Annual Passholder Member Services at (714) 781-7277 to confirm their contact and refund information prior to a refund being processed.
Passports Purchased Under the Monthly Payment Program
If a Passport was purchased on or after January 1, 2019 and not yet activated as of March 14, 2020 (i.e., not been used for park admission) and was purchased under the monthly payment program, the total amount paid towards the Passport sales price will be refunded. If a Passport was purchased prior to January 1, 2019, the purchaser must contact Annual Passholder Member Services at (714) 781-7277 to confirm their contact and refund information prior to a refund being processed.
Pro Rata Refund Eligibility and Calculation for Premier Passports
If the total amount paid toward a Premier Passport (minus any refunds already given) exceeds the “usable value” of the Premier Passport, that excess amount will be refunded for that Premier Passport. The usable value of the Premier Passport equals the total sales price of the Premier Passport divided by the total number of access days to any theme park permitted under the Premier Passport at activation and multiplied by the number of days that the Premier Passport could have been used to visit any park per the terms of the Premier Passport prior to March 14, 2020 (the date the Disneyland Resort theme parks closed).
- Pro rata refund amount = Total amount paid toward Premier Passport (minus any refunds given) – Usable value of Premier Passport
- Usable value of Premier Passport = (Total sales price ÷ Total number of access days at activation) × Number of access days available prior to March 14, 2020
In addition, Premier Passports will remain active for Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park access (please note, advance Disney Park Pass reservations are required for entry) and V.I.PASSHOLDER Perks through March 31, 2021, and will be cancelled thereafter.
Pro Rata Refund Processing and Timeline
Credit Card Purchases
For a Passport that was purchased using a credit card (even if the credit card was used in combination with other forms of payment) and the sales price was paid in full, the applicable pro rata refund will be issued to the credit card used in the purchase of the Passport. For a Passport purchased under the monthly payment program, any applicable pro rata refund will be issued to the most recent credit card used for payment.
We are committed to processing refunds as diligently and as quickly as possible. A separate confirmation email will be sent to the email address associated with the Passport once any applicable pro rata refund for such Passport has been processed.
If the applicable pro rata refund is unable to be returned to the purchasing credit card, a check will be mailed to the billing address provided at the time of sale/renewal of the Passport.
Other Payment Methods
For a Passport that was not purchased with a credit card as a form of payment, the pro rata refund will be issued by check and mailed to the billing address provided at the time of sale/renewal of the Passport.
We are committed to processing refunds as diligently and as quickly as possible. A separate confirmation email will be sent to the email address associated with the Passport once any applicable pro rata refund for such Passport has been processed.
Passports Paid in Full at Time of Purchase
Each Passport whose purchase price was paid in full will be individually refunded the applicable pro rata amount for such Passport even if the Passport was purchased in the same transaction as other Passports by the same purchaser.
Passports Purchased Under the Monthly Payment Program
Any pro rata refunds for Passports purchased under the monthly payment program will be issued to the current credit card on file with us. The pro rata refund amount will be issued per monthly payment contract and will reflect applicable refunds for all Passports purchased under such contract.
The Admissions & Blockout Calendars for each Passport type are included below to assist with calculating the number of applicable access days (days that Passholders could have visited a park) for the refund calculations set forth above.
With Disneyland currently a site for COVID-19 vaccines, and no word on when the parks would reopen I am not really surprised. Disneyland has been fighting with Governor Newsom to reopen the parks since this past summer. There is also talk on some of Disneyland’s business operations moving to Florida…
This will be a huge impact not only for fans but also on the community as well.
