Disney World Monorails received new nighttime lighting for 50th anniversary

Walt Disney World’s monorails have received a special nighttime enhancement as part of the 50th anniversary celebration!

New lighting shines from a Monorail train at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., as it travels through EPCOT. In honor of the resort’s 50th anniversary celebration, each train received a lighting color matching its painted stripe.

The Disney Parks Facebook page shared the update last night:

“Glow-up alert! Each Monorail train received a special nighttime enhancement for the 50th anniversary with the addition of glowing lights that match each train’s specific color, spreading magic everywhere the Monorail runs across Walt Disney World Resort during the 18-month celebration.”

Spaceship Earth also lit up with Epcot’s new “Beacon of Magic” lighting for the first time last night!
