Park Capacity

In today’s fourth-quarter earnings report today Disney shared big news about the Walt Disney World Theme Parks!

Disney World will be increasing Park Capacity from 25% to 35% according to Disney CEO Bob Chapek.

Disney World increasing park capacity to 35%

Back on September 25th Governor DeSantis allowed theme parks to return to full capacity but Disney decided not to follow his recommendation instead, they opted to follow the CDC’s recommendations.

In a statement from Disney:

“We received the Governor’s executive order and are evaluating it to determine what it may mean for our business. We are not making any immediate changes. As a reminder, face coverings are still required at Walt Disney World Resort.”

Disney World Crowds

We are not sure when Disney expanded their capacity from 25% to 35% but just looking at the crowds last week for the Holidays at the Magic Kingdom it seems like it was around that time.

The photo above was taken the first night they did the Cinderella Castle Projections, as you can see it was quite packed.

Although the capacity increase has occurred, Bob Chapek noted that they are increasing capacity while still adhering to the CDC guidelines.
