An operating participant employee at the Coca Cola store in Disney Springs was arrested and charged with grand theft third degree of $10,000 or more. The Coca Cola store opened in July of 2016 near Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs and has been a popular shopping outlet ever since.
According to a written statement from the store manager, Joshua Strickland, age 26, stole $18,060.78 over his 18 month employment period with the location. Deputies have obtained numerous videos and photos showing Strickland stealing money from the cash registers.
The former employee admitted to the store manager that he stole between $7,000 and $10,000. Shortly after giving the manager $1,000 and promising to pay back $7,000, Strickland stopped paying the debt.
It was said that he needed the money to help his mother pay her rent, assist a friend and buy his girlfriend a birthday gift.
