First Look at The Wetlands at Disney Lakeshore Lodge, Opening Summer 2027

Disney has shared a first look at The Wetlands, the expansive outdoor recreation area coming to the new Disney Lakeshore Lodge when the resort opens at Walt Disney World in summer 2027. Nestled along the shores of Bay Lake, this nature-inspired oasis will blend relaxation, adventure, and Disney storytelling into one unforgettable resort experience.

Located just beyond the resort lobby, The Wetlands will offer guests multiple ways to enjoy the outdoors. Families with younger children will find plenty to explore in themed play areas inspired by Disney’s Pocahontas. Drawing inspiration from the iconic song “Colors of the Wind,” Heron Shores will feature imaginative climbing and play structures, while Otter Springs will provide interactive water play areas where kids can splash, slide, and cool off under the Florida sun.

One of the most exciting additions is Daydream River, a lazy river winding through the recreation area. Guests can float along at a leisurely pace while taking in scenic views of the surrounding wetlands and Bay Lake.
