Disney Parks around the world and Disney’s Dream Big Princess campaign will celebrate International Day of the Girl on October 11, and you’re invited! The United Nations has declared October 11 “International Day of the Girl,” and Disney Parks are celebrating by inviting Guests in the parks on October 11 to Disney bound as their favorite Disney princess.
Disney launched its Dream Big Princess campaign in February of 2016. The campaign uses the stories of the 11 fictional Disney princesses, as well as real-life role models to encourage young people all over the world to dream big and follow those dreams with passion and determination.
Guests are encouraged to Disney bound as their favorite Disney princess when they visit the parks on October 11. All costumes worn in the parks must be in keeping with each park’s guidelines for special events costumes. Participants may even be featured on the Disney Parks Blog!
The Dream Big Princess campaign will also launch its new video series this month. The series celebrates the trailblazing spirit of some very inspirational young women from all over the world. The videos were created by 21 young women who are trailblazers themselves. From October 10 to November 20, 2018, every time you like or share one of the videos or photos from the series with the words “Dream Big Princess” on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, Disney Worldwide Services will donate $1 to Girl Up, the United Nations Foundation program that supports girls’ leadership and empowerment.
What a great way to have fun in the parks while celebrating a very important day for young dreamers all over the world! Walt Disney himself said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.”
