Filming has begun for the upcoming ”National Treasure” series coming to Disney+ streaming service.
A film crew was spotted in south Baton Rouge Tuesday as production got underway for National Treasure. The television series is said to be an expansion of the earlier films.
Jerry Bruckheimer has returned to produce the National Treasure series with original franchise writing duo Marianne and Cormac Wibberley. Mira Nair (Queen of Katwe) is set to direct the pilot episode.
The series will not only feature Ideal Market as a backdrop, but employees who work there as well. A Baton Rouge news anchor shared the film crew photos on their Twitter account.

Academy Award and Tony Award-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones will play a leading series regular role in the Disney+ original series “National Treasure.” The live-action series is an expansion of the “National Treasure” movie franchise centered on a young heroine, Jess (Lisette Alexis), a brilliant and resourceful dreamer who embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to uncover the truth about her family’s mysterious past and save a lost Pan-American treasure.
