Disney is making Changes to Lightning Lane for the holidays

We have great news for anyone traveling to Walt Disney World between December 19, 2021 and January 3, 2022! Disney just announced that during this time, 4 rides will be moved within the Genie app from the Individual Lightning Lane category to be a part of the Genie + Lightning Lane group. For those still unfamiliar with this new system, that means that you typically have to pay extra for Lightning Lane passes for these rides, but during this time frame they will be included with the purchase of Genie+. The current cost of Genie+ is $15 per person, per day.

The rides included in this change are Expedition Everest- Legend of the Forbidden Mountain at Animal Kingdom, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Hollywood Studios, Frozen Ever After at EPCOT and Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom.

Since the rides included are among some of the favorites across property, it’s nice to see that they will be offered during this very busy time of year to help guests navigate through their day more efficiently, without having to pay an extra fee.
