Disney Hiring Friendship Boat Operators. For those of us who love the Port Orleans Resorts at Walt Disney World Resort area, we are anxiously awaiting the reopening of Riverside and the French Quarter. Now, things are starting to feel more and more like they are about to get back to normal operations as the resort is scheduled to reopen shortly, with the search for Friendship Boat Operators.
These boats are the ones that travel the Sassagoula River back and forth to DIsney Springs and in between Resorts.
Watercraft and Friendship/Sassagoula Cast Members are focused on the safety of our guests while creating a magical experience throughout their stay. Watercraft Cast Members are responsible for engaging Guests, loading and unloading the watercraft vessels while piloting a fleet of multi-passenger boats of different sizes and lengths. Watercraft Cast Members will provide narration of varying lengths in front of large groups and provide audience control in various weather conditions

Guests of select Disney Resort hotels can enjoy complimentary boat service to and from Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

Responsibilities:
Friendship Boat Operators
- Proactively engage with Guests by answering questions, giving directions and other information about the theme park or surrounding areas
- Prolong standing to perform and maintain crowd control during peak operational hours in outdoor settings during different weather conditions
- Prolong standing and walking to various areas to include climbing several flights of stairs
- Ability to tread and swim in deep water for a extend period
- Repetitive heavy lifting of 50-70 pounds repeatedly
- Take ownership during emergencies situations
- Pilot and dock vessels of multiple sizes and lengths in various conditions including but not limited to;
- Low visibility
- Adverse weather conditions/ high winds
- Maneuver vessel in narrow waterways
- Ability to identify channel markers for safe passage
- Assist Guests with boarding:
- Operate a lift
- Push & Pull wheelchairs.
- Involves lifting, bending, stooping, and twisting while using belts and straps to secure the Guest to provide a safe ride
- Load/unload Electronic Convenience Vehicle (ECV) and folding strollers
- Maintain the docks and boats to include sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and removing trash
- Communicate using a radio with dispatch and other vessels
Basic Qualifications:
Friendship Boat Operators
- Must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role
- Valid Driver License
- Strong written and interpersonal communications skills
- Physical role requiring heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and kneeling
- Observational skills to proactively identify Guest needs and ensure safety guidelines are being followed
- Part-Time requires full availability for any shift, a MINIMUM of three (3) days per week, including nights and holidays
- Full-Time roles require FULL AVAILABILITY for any shift, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required.
- Cast Members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies

SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00 am while some may end as late as 3:00 am, 4:00 am or 5:00 am.
