The Disney Wonder arrived in San Diego on March 19th after cutting its 14-night Panama Canal Cruise short. A passenger that was on that cruise has tested positive for Coronavirus, or COVID-19.
At the time the ship arrived in San Diego, none of the crew or guests showed any symptoms of the virus except for one crew member that had influenza.
On Friday, a San Diego resident who was a passenger on the Disney Wonder for that cruise had tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to a local hospital. That is the only information that was given about the passenger.
The CDC is now recommending that all cruise passengers throughout the country self-quarantine after disembarking any cruise ship.
It’s impossible to know where the Disney Cruise Line passenger might’ve picked up the virus but we hope they recover quickly.
