Wocka Wocka, One Last Time: Cast Members to Bid Farewell to Muppet*Vision 3D in Private Celebration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
It’s time to play the music one final time—for Cast Members, at least.
On June 10, 2025, Walt Disney World will host a special, Cast Member-exclusive sendoff for Muppet*Vision 3D, the beloved Grand Avenue attraction that’s been serving up laughs (and the occasional flying pie) since 1991. Just days after its final public showing on June 7, Disney’s Hollywood Studios Cast Members will get one last chance to say goodbye during a heartfelt farewell event filled with themed games, activities, and—of course—a final screening inside the iconic Muppet theater.

This behind-the-scenes celebration marks the official end of an era. More than just a show, Muppet*Vision 3D was the final project personally overseen by the legendary Jim Henson, giving it a special place in the hearts of fans and Cast alike. It was a perfect blend of classic Muppet mayhem, cutting-edge (for 1991!) 3D technology, and plenty of puns that only Fozzie could love. And let’s not forget Sam Eagle’s “salute to all nations, but mostly America.”
The June 10 celebration is also a fond farewell to the entire Grand Avenue area, which will soon be transformed into Monstropolis, a brand-new land themed after Pixar’s Monsters, Inc.. As part of the transformation, PizzeRizzo—the Muppets-themed eatery that’s long been a punchline for its medi-okra menu (we say that with love!)—will also serve its final slice on June 7.
In its place, Disney has announced plans for the Monstro Theater, a brand-new attraction that promises to bring the laugh-powered world of Monsters, Inc. to life. While we’re excited to see Mike, Sulley, and Roz take the stage, it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to a piece of Disney-Muppet history that’s entertained generations of guests.

Disney has teased that it is “exploring ways to preserve the film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future,” so it may not be completely the end for Kermit and the gang. Whether that means a Disney+ debut, digital archive, or perhaps an Easter egg or two in the new land, we’ll be keeping an eye on the radar (and maybe the penguin orchestra, too).
As the curtains close and the theater lights dim for the final time, we can only say: thank you for the laughter, the nostalgia, and the foam pies. And as Kermit once said, “Life’s like a movie—write your own ending.” Muppet*Vision 3D, you gave us one heck of a finale.
