Custodial Cast Members at Walt Disney World Debut Fresh New Costumes with Function, Flair, and a Touch of Pixie Dust
Walt Disney World’s incredible costuming team has done it again — and this time, the magic is sweeping through the parks quite literally! Custodial Cast Members are getting a fresh new look, and it’s more than just a costume refresh — it’s a celebration of comfort, functionality, and cast member pride.
Unveiled at the Disney Live Entertainment Costuming facility (aka the most colorful room on property), these new outfits bring a modern twist to an essential role that keeps the magic sparkling every day. With a rainbow wall of thread spools as the backdrop and the biggest smiles in the house front and center, the newly redesigned custodial look is already shining bright.

Built for Magic in Motion
Behind the seams, this redesign was no simple fashion show. It was a carefully crafted collaboration driven by cast member feedback and performance needs. The new custodial costumes are packed with thoughtful upgrades:
- Moisture-wicking and sun-protective fabrics – Perfect for keeping cool under that Florida sun
- Stretchy materials and adjustable pant cuffs – Because comfort is key during long shifts on the go
- Extra pockets – A custodial MVP feature for keeping supplies handy
- Vibrant new colors – A crisp white and teal combo that’s both sharp and distinctly Disney
Most importantly, the signature sweeping Mickey Mouse logo — a beloved symbol among the custodial team — has remained, paying homage to the heart of the original design.

A Custom Fit for Every Cast Member
“Cast feedback was so important to us when designing these new operational costumes because our cast are everything,” shared Nicole, Costume Designer with Disney Live Entertainment. “We want to make sure they feel comfortable and confident while making magic.”
And the magic isn’t just in the fabric. Costume Development Manager Danielle worked with a women-owned hat company (founded by a former optometrist!) to find a headwear solution that’s safe, stylish, and comfortable — even for cast members who wear glasses or have various hairstyles. Adjustable and inclusive? Check and check.

Danielle added, “I’m excited about taking these costumes into the future by utilizing updated fabric technology and materials that have a little extra pixie dust built into them.”
With more than 893 unique costume designs and a jaw-dropping 140 million individual garments in the Walt Disney World wardrobe inventory, these new custodial looks are just the beginning of what’s next. From Main Street to backstage, the cast members who bring Disney to life deserve to feel as iconic as the parks themselves — and this costume makeover is a step in exactly that direction.
