We previously reported that Disney would be rolling out the a new “Digital Key” feature via the My Disney Experience app. This feature allows a guest to unlock their Resort Hotel room from their My Disney Experience app via Bluetooth without using your MagicBand.
The new “Digital Key” feature was originally rolled out in a test phase at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and then extended to additional Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. Today, I am happy to report that the feature is now available to guests staying at all Walt Disney World Resort Hotels.
The “Digital Key” feature is just one of several new additions to the My Disney Experience app in recent months. One of my favorite features, mobile ordering, was introduced last year at various quick service restaurants around the four Walt Disney World Resort Parks and Disney Springs. In recent weeks mobile ordering was also extended to quick service restaurants inside Walt Disney World Resort Hotels.
What do you think about the new “Digital Key” feature in the My Disney Experience app?
