A feature for iPhone, Pixel, Alexa, and Android allows you to use Harry Potter Spells to navigate your device and apps, and now we have to know, HOW DID WE NOT KNOW THIS SOONER? For years, several of the more well-known spells allow you to use your phone’s apps, features, and more with verbal commands, and some of them are already included! Check out the spell list below:

Lumos and Nox

If you activate your chosen device’s virtual assistant (Hey Siri, Hey Google, etc) you can give the verbal command “Lumos” to turn on the flashlight and “Nox” to turn off your device’s flashlight. This can be a helpful trick when trying to find your phone in the dark or if you misplace it. Your device should automatically have this feature, so give it a try!

Accio

If you activate your chosen device’s virtual assistant (Siri, Hey Google, etc) you can quickly find an app or feature by saying: “Accio Facebook” or “Accio Notes” your phone will bring the app to the front of your screen for easy use.

Avada Kedavra

Many devices allow you to set verbal commands to turn on/off features such as Do Not Disturb or Airplane Mode, and you can set your device to use the command “Avada Kedavra” to quickly switch your phone to an unavailable setting.

Google Home Routines

You can change your Google Home Routines to activate with verbal commands such as “Engorgio” and “Reducto” for television or music volume, “Lumos” or “Nox” to turn on and off the lights, and more. Get creative with your options and have fun with it!

Harry Potter Spells: Alexa Skills

Harry Potter Spells is a wonderful Alexa Skill that allows users to navigate information about various Hogwarts magic spells, charms, enchantments, etc. All you have to do is just invoke the skill by saying “Start Harry Potter Spells”, then say any spell name! Alexa will be happy to share and you’ll have a neat party trick to share.
