Disney Springs will soon have its partial reopening to the public. In the past few days, Walt Disney World Resort announced their plan to allow guests back into Disney Springs starting on May 20, 2020. So far, the plan is to reopen select third-party restaurants and stores. Now we’ve been informed that Disney Springs is also allowing custodial cast members to return to work.
There’s been speculation over the past few days as to whether Disney Springs would use third-party custodians or Disney custodians. Today was the first day that Walt Disney World Resort began recalling custodian cast members. It’ll be the first time for many of these cast members to be reporting back to work since the company-wide furloughs.
For now, Disney is permitting most custodial cast members to request a transfer to Disney Springs. They’re welcoming requests from those who operated as custodians in other sections of Walt Disney World Resort, so the shifts are not excluded to prior Disney Springs custodians.
These cast members will work on ensuring Disney Springs remains a safe and healthy location for guests. It’ll be interesting to see how the next few weeks go as Disney begins its partial reopening. We’re hopeful and will update our fans when we learn of the next phase of reopening Walt Disney World.
