Could Thor Receive “The Odinforce” in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’? Marvel Studios Thor: Love and Thunder is set to break a barrier in the MCU and become the first franchise film to receive a 4th standalone film. The film is also set to introduce Jane Foster as ‘Lady Thor’ and Valkyrie is said to be confirmed as an LGBTQ character within the film.

In a previously deleted scene from Thor: Ragnarok, there was a moment scraped from the film that featured Odin giving the Odinforce to Thor during a discussion in a New York alleyway. There was also a scene where Odin confronted Hela and likely these scenes would have been tied together to help Thor defeat Hela after Odin’s passing.

Not familiar with the Odinforce? Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki shares, “The Odinforce is a powerful, mystical energy used by the Kings of Asgard, most notably Odin, hence its name. It is the source of power of the spear Gungnir wielded by the Kings of Asgard, and the Destroyer, and must be periodically replenished by entering the Odinsleep.”

The Odinforce is so strong in the comics is has been known to crack Captain America’s shield and when unleashed ushered in the events that began Ragnarok in the comics. Thor is arguably one of the most powerful characters in the MCU to date, but with the Odinforce he could reach even higher levels of god-hood (pun intended).

Though Thor has yet to officially receive the Odinforce in the MCU it is great to see the studio was testing that arc for the third Thor film, but likely will actually appear within the fourth film of the franchise. Thor: Love and Thunder is bound to be an excellent edition to the MCU and Marvel fans are chomping at the bit for the premiere sometime in Phase 5 of the MCU.
