The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has lowered its vaccination threshold for cruise ships. The guidance now recommends for ships to be considered “highly vaccinated.”

“Highly vaccinated” means 90% of cruise ship passengers must be fully vaccinated while 95% of crew members must be fully vaccinated. The CDC used existing COVID-19 data and models to update its policy.

In spite of the CDC’s change, Disney Cruise Line still requires all passengers to be fully vaccinated in order to sail.

“Disney Cruise Line continues to require all vaccine-eligible Guests to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of sailing, as defined by the CDC. This is a requirement for both U.S. and International Guests ages 5 and older.”
