Bill Murray Joins the Cast of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’. After weeks of rumors, the news has been confirmed! Bill Murray is officially making his MCU debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Murray confirmed the casting in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, sharing:
“You know, recently I made a Marvel movie. I probably won’t tell you, but never mind. In any case, some people were quite surprised why I decided on such a project. But for me the thing was quite clear: I got to know the director – and really liked him very much. He [Peyton Reed] was funny, humble, everything you want from a director. And with the cheerleader story Bring It On he made a movie years ago, which I think is damn good. So I agreed, although I’m not interested in these huge comic book adaptations as an actor otherwise.”
Both Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are set to reprise their roles as Scott Lang (Ant-Man) and Hope Van Dyne (The Wasp). Also returning for the film is Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet Van Dyne), Michael Peña (Luis) Jonathan Majors (Kang the Conqueror), and MCU newcomer Kathryn Newton (Cassie Lang) with Bill Murray in an unspecified role. Writer and co-producer Jeff Loveness has been chosen by Marvel Studios to pen the script.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will premiere in theaters on February 17, 2023. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Marvel!
