Magic Kingdom’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be receiving a refurbishment starting on September 7th according to a permit just filled with the Orange County Comptrollers office.

Recently a permit was filed by the Buena Vista Construction Company providing labor, materials for the construction of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in the Magic Kingdom. It is unknown if the ride will close for refurbishment or remain open like many other attractions in the Magic Kingdom.
It should be noted that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland is closing for refurbishment on September 7th with a FALL reopening date.

Not much is known for the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Refurb at this time. However, with all of the updates to the Disney World Rides and Attractions for the upcoming 50th Anniversary, I am wondering if Disney is sprucing things up on this fan-favorite attraction before October 1st.
