Disney Dream will be getting an upgrade to its stage show line-up with the opening of “Beauty and the Beast” in November. The show expands on the highlights of both the live-action and classic animated film in an offering the combines classic storytelling with state-of-the-art technology and includes 11 musical numbers and 25 performers.
Rehearsals on the this hotly anticipated musical began this Summer with the performers amassing an astounding 176 rehearsals under their belt. All rehearsals were done on land with the production slated to open at the Walt Disney Theatre aboard the Disney Dream later this fall.
Here’s a shot of the cast hard at work readying the stage show:
The rehearsals took place in an impressive rehearsal space spanning 20,000 square feet which houses 11 studios and rehearsal rooms with two of the rooms comparable in size to the Walt Disney Theatre aboard the ship. Here performers spent many an hour learning their blocking and perfecting their vocals for this stunning new production. Because the performers wear a myriad of different hats while on board, they also must learn numerous roles from other shows to deck parties. Each of the performers has an enviable skill set with multi-faceted talents that range from singing, dancing, puppetry and even acrobatics.
