Avengers: Doomsday Scores Massive $16.5 Million in Advance Ticket Sales on Day One
Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are already assembling at the box office! Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday has kicked off ticket sales in impressive fashion, earning a staggering $16.5 million in advance ticket sales during its very first day of availability.

According to industry reports, that figure is especially remarkable because tickets were only offered for premium large format screenings at approximately 1,000 theaters across the United States. The sales also do not include IMAX showings, as Dune: Part 3, which opens on the same day, has secured exclusive access to IMAX screens for its first three weeks in theaters.
The December 18, 2026 showdown between Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part 3 has already earned the nickname “Dunesday,” with many predicting one of the biggest combined opening weekends in box office history. Even without IMAX ticket sales, Marvel’s latest blockbuster is proving fans are more than ready to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s biggest team-up.
Disney is also introducing its new Infinity Vision premium large format experience, which will be available for Avengers: Doomsday. The company previously announced that Infinity Vision will debut ahead of the film with a special re-release of Avengers: Endgame this September, giving fans another chance to relive one of Marvel’s biggest cinematic moments before the next chapter arrives.
Marvel has already begun building excitement by revealing concept art featuring familiar Avengers alongside the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Doctor Doom, who looms over the assembled heroes. The film also recently confirmed its runtime, signaling that another epic Marvel adventure is on the horizon.

Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled to follow one year later on December 17, 2027. If these opening ticket sales are any indication, Marvel fans are already counting down the days.
